Today Microsoft released a Critical Update for all computers running Windows XP, Server 2003, Vista, Server 2008 and Windows 7 to correct an issue with 9 SSL certificates that were erroneously issued to potential hackers for the following sites:
- login.live.com
- mail.google.com
- http://www.google.com
- login.yahoo.com (3 certificates)
- login.skype.com
- addons.mozilla.org
- “Global Trustee”
This issue could cause your login or personal information to be stolen when you attempt to login to one of the above sites. It is strongly advised that everyone install this update as soon as possible to avoid any loss or theft of data or personal information. To download and install the update, you can either use the Automatic Update that is built into Windows or you can click on this link and find the applicable update for your version of Windows.
